Efficient Practice Management for SLPs: Discover the SLPelliance Practice Manager

In 2016, I embarked on the journey of building a teletherapy platform tailored explicitly for speech-language pathologists (SLPs). Unfortunately, I had to halt the project due to financial constraints and the inability to raise more funds at the time. Despite this setback, I remained undeterred and pivoted to other ventures while continuing to educate myself about building a tech business and raising venture capital.

The onset of the pandemic provided an unexpected opportunity to reevaluate my next steps. During this time, I collaborated with my colleague, Adrienne Wallace, to enhance the marketing strategy for my teletherapy practice. As our discussions progressed, I shared my initial teletherapy platform concept with Adrienne. She helped me realize I could transform what I had already built into a standalone Practice Manager designed explicitly for SLPs.

We realized that one of the biggest challenges for SLPs contracting with schools is having an efficient billing system suited to their needs. That realization became the basis for designing the Practice Manager. Moreover, recognizing that solo private practice owners could also benefit from a low-cost documentation system without the high price or complexity of an EMR, we adjusted our original design to accommodate their needs.

The SLPelliance Practice Manager is designed specifically for SLPs who contract with schools, hire subcontractors or employees to fill their contracts, or own a small private practice that needs a documentation system. It caters to SLPs who require a streamlined, efficient way to manage their practice without the unnecessary complexities of more extensive systems.

  • Session Scheduling: Schedule all therapy sessions, direct and indirect, to ensure comprehensive organization and planning.
  • Therapy Notes: Add therapy notes directly from the calendar, maintaining seamless documentation.
  • Invoice Generation: Create and send invoices on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis to school districts, simplifying the billing process.
  • Employee Management: Track hours for yourself and your employees or subcontractors, facilitating accurate time management and billing.
  • Contract Assignment: Add clients and contracts, assign them to specific clinicians, and automatically consolidate hours worked by multiple clinicians into a single invoice for the school district.

For business owners, the Practice Manager offers an invaluable tool to monitor SLP workloads, ensure accurate billing, and expedite the invoicing process.
